Ian, Quintin, Jemma and myself would like to wish everyone a happy holiday season!

It’s a cold one here this morning with the windchill setting record lows of -38 this morning!  And that is Celsius people!  LOL!  Its cold!  But Ian is outside getting the rink and sliding hill ready for the kids! Brrr!  I will sit inside (with the fire on) and get ready for our Christmas Eve traditions at our place!  Tonight we have our close family friends Fred and Crystal and their girls over with Ian’s parents and my mom and dad always come for the holidays as well!  Tonight we are having an ugly Christmas sweater party and some games, before heading to bed to wait for the “big guy” to make his “drop” at the Cooke residence!

It has been a busy 2017 for us, as things never seem to settle down here!  We started our year off with the wolf hunts (which were very successful) and then moved on to hockey tournaments and sport shows… And this was just January!  We did sneak a holiday down south to Mexico for just Ian and I (our first hot holiday together without the kids), where all we did was talk about how much the kids would love it!  February carried on with more hockey and ice fishermen.   The ice fishing is really taking off as our guests are finding out how good the fishing is and how much fun it can be here in the winter!

We had an exceptionally busy summer and fall.  It is so nice to see our guests and all their families!  Quintin and Jemma were lucky enough to have kids in camp all summer!  It is so nice to see kids here…experiencing all the amazing things that a trip to “Canada” can bring!  Making memories with families and putting away technology for the week.

Fall was another busy one for us.  Ian and Ron were busy insulating the garage and getting things put away for the winter.  I was busy with the kids and the start of hockey season.  Jemma has decided to lace up her skates again this year (after taking a year off), and is a force to be reckoned with out there!  She gives all the boys a run for their money!  And Quintin made a travel team outside of Red Lake and is busy with our house league hockey here and then traveling down the highway!

We are taking the kids and taking off for Mexico at the end of January for a much deserved family holiday!  We have another family coming with us from Red Lake, my parents, and Dustin and Teresa (guest that have become family!) are meeting us there too!  (We are working on a few more guests to meet us there as well! LOL)

So with that.. We wish you all the best in 2018… and can’t wait to catch up with everyone!  We truly do love you all like family!

Drew, Ian, Quintin and Jemma

PS…. A few housekeeping things to clean up here!  I did not send out deposit letters to everyone this year.  BUT… DEPOSITS ARE DUE.  Please send in your deposits for 2018.  Ian will be calling you soon if you haven’t already done so.  He is off to Green Bay January 18 – 21st.  He is at the All Canada show there if you are close and want to stop in and say hi, or drop off a deposit.  I won’t be with him this year as Q has a tournament in Thunder Bay that weekend, and I will be cheering him on!
